Febustat 20 Tablet is used for the following:

• Chronic management of hyperuricemia in adults with gout: This medicine is typically used when other uric acid-lowering medicines aren't effective or can't be tolerated.

• Preventing the formation of uric acid crystals in the joints: These crystals can cause painful inflammation, a common symptom of gout.

• Dissolving existing uric acid crystals: This halts the progression of gout and prevents further joint damage.

Here's how you should take Febustat 20 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• This medicine can be taken with or without food according to your convenience.

• Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Febustat 20 Tablet contains Febuxostat (20 mg), which acts as follows:

• Xanthine Oxidase Inhibition: Febuxostat blocks the activity of an enzyme named xanthine oxidase. This particular enzyme plays a crucial role in the formation of uric acid in your body.

• Reduction of Uric Acid Levels: By inhibiting the activity of xanthine oxidase, Febuxostat effectively decreases the levels of uric acid in your blood.
