Esogress-40 Tablet is a prescription medicine used to manage acid-related disorders of the stomach and oesophagus. It is indicated for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive oesophagitis, peptic ulcers, and conditions involving excessive stomach acid like Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
It contains esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that works by suppressing the acid-producing pumps in the stomach wall. This significantly lowers stomach acidity, allowing damaged oesophageal and gastric tissues to heal. Take the tablet before a meal, swallowed whole with water.
Adopting lifestyle modifications such as eating smaller meals, avoiding trigger foods (spicy/fatty items), maintaining an upright posture after eating, and managing weight can enhance treatment outcomes.
Before taking Esogress-40, inform your doctor if you have severe liver disease, bone osteoporosis, or vitamin B12 deficiency. Long-term use should be supervised by a doctor. Seek immediate care if you experience severe abdominal pain, persistent diarrhoea, or unexplained weight loss.
