Composition

Dapagliflozin (10 Mg) + Glimepiride (1 Mg) + Metformin (1000 Mg)

EMILDAP GM 10/1/1000 TABLET 10 is used to manage high blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet and exercise alone are not enough. It is a combination medicine that belongs to the class of antidiabetic medications.

This medicine helps in controlling blood glucose levels in patients when treatment with a single medicine or dual therapy does not provide adequate control. It works through multiple mechanisms to reduce blood sugar levels effectively, making it suitable for patients who need additional support in managing their diabetes.

Take this medicine orally as directed by your doctor. Before starting, inform your doctor about any pre-existing conditions you may have, especially kidney or liver problems, and any other medicines you are currently taking. Follow these instructions while taking EMILDAP GM 10/1/1000 TABLET 10:

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Take it in the morning with or without food.
Do not crush, break, or chew the tablet.
Continue taking this medicine regularly as advised by your doctor.
Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

EMILDAP GM 10/1/1000 TABLET 10 may have the following side effects:

Female genital infections: These are fungal infections that can cause itching and discomfort in the genital area.
Urinary tract infections
Diarrhoea
Headache
Nausea
Hypoglycaemia: This refers to low blood sugar levels that may cause symptoms like sweating, shakiness, hunger, and confusion.
Nasopharyngitis: This is inflammation of the nasal passages and the back of the throat, commonly known as a cold.

Management Of Side Effects:

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless, which resolve on discontinuing the use of EMILDAP GM 10/1/1000 TABLET 10. However, if you experience any serious side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

Here are some general guidelines for managing common side effects:

Nausea: Taking this medicine with food can help reduce feelings of sickness.
Hypoglycaemia: Having this medicine with or just after meals can help prevent low blood sugar episodes.

EMILDAP GM 10/1/1000 TABLET 10 contains three active ingredients that work together to control blood sugar levels:

Dapagliflozin (10 mg): Acts as a selective SGLT2 inhibitor that reduces the reabsorption of filtered glucose in your kidneys and promotes its excretion through urine, thereby lowering blood glucose levels independently of insulin.
Glimepiride (1 mg): Functions as a sulfonylurea that stimulates your pancreas to produce more insulin by binding to receptors on pancreatic beta cells, which causes these cells to release insulin into your bloodstream.
Metformin (1000 mg): This is a biguanide that decreases glucose production in the liver, reduces glucose absorption from the intestines, and improves insulin sensitivity by increasing glucose uptake and use in peripheral tissues.

Pregnancy

EMILDAP GM 10/1/1000 TABLET 10 is not recommended during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. The medicine may affect kidney development in the unborn baby. If you are pregnant or planning to conceive, make sure to discuss this with your doctor before starting this medicine.

Breastfeeding

EMILDAP GM 10/1/1000 TABLET 10 is contraindicated during breastfeeding. The active ingredients can pass into breast milk and may cause low blood sugar in nursing infants. Consult your doctor about alternative medicines or feeding options during your treatment.

Alcohol

Liver

Allergy

Protein-bound medicines: Highly protein-bound medicines such as salicylates (choline salicylate), sulfonamides (sulfisoxazole), and chloramphenicol can interact with glimepiride in this tablet, affecting blood glucose control.
Carbonic anhydrase inhibitors: Medicines like acetazolamide or topiramate may increase the risk of lactic acidosis when taken with metformin in this tablet.
Cationic medicines: Medicines such as cimetidine, dolutegravir, and vandetanib can reduce metformin clearance, potentially increasing its levels in the blood.

Drug-Disease Interactions

EMILDAP GM 10/1/1000 TABLET 10 interacts with the following diseases:

Renal impairment: This medicine is contraindicated in severe kidney disease (EGFR below 30 ml/min/1.73 m²) as it may worsen kidney function.
Metabolic acidosis: Patients with this condition should not take this medicine as it may worsen the acidosis.
Liver disease: This medicine should be avoided in patients with liver problems as it may increase the risk of hypoglycaemia and lactic acidosis.
Pancreatitis: There is a risk of worsening inflammation of the pancreas in patients with a history of this condition.

Daily Dose

The daily dose of EMILDAP GM 10/1/1000 TABLET 10 should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. The dosage may change based on factors such as your response to treatment and kidney function. Follow the prescribed dosage carefully.

Over Dose
