Edastar Injection 20Ml is used to treat amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as motor neurone disease, a condition that affects the nerves controlling voluntary muscle movement. It may help slow the worsening of the disease and preserve muscle function for longer.
It contains edaravone, an antioxidant that works by neutralising unstable molecules called free radicals, which can damage nerve cells. It is given as a drip into a vein by trained healthcare staff, following a set schedule arranged by your doctor.
Keeping to the planned infusion schedule, attending all follow-up appointments, and staying physically active as advised by your doctor help the treatment work as intended.
Tell your doctor about any asthma, breathing problems or past allergic reactions before starting, and about other medicines you take. Your care team will monitor you during and after each infusion. Report wheezing, breathlessness, rash, itching or swelling of the face or throat.
