Fraseda 1.5 MG Injection 20 ML is used to treat amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, a condition that affects the nerves controlling voluntary muscle movement. It may help slow the worsening of the disease and help preserve muscle function for longer.
It contains edaravone, a free-radical scavenger (antioxidant). It works by neutralising unstable molecules called free radicals that can damage nerve cells. It is given as a drip into a vein (intravenous infusion) by trained healthcare staff, following a set schedule arranged by your doctor.
Your care team will monitor you during and after each infusion. Keeping to the planned infusion schedule helps the treatment work as intended.
Tell your doctor about any asthma, breathing problems or previous allergic reactions before starting, and about other medicines you take. You will be monitored closely during treatment. Report wheezing, breathlessness, rash, itching or swelling of the face or throat.
