Defcort Tm Capsule 10

Defcort TM Capsule is used to manage conditions such as prostate enlargement and kidney stones by improving urine flow and easing urinary discomfort. It is also prescribed in certain inflammatory and neuromuscular conditions, including Duchenne muscular dystrophy, where it helps reduce inflammation and muscle damage under medical supervision.

• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid opening, crushing or chewing the capsule.

• Remember to take the medicine approximately 30 minutes after the same meal each day to ensure consistent absorption.

Defcort TM Capsule is taken orally.

Defcort TM Capsule contains two components:

• Deflazacort (30 mg): This corticosteroid exerts strong anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects. It works by lowering inflammation and modifying the response of the immune system. Within the context of DMD, deflazacort can slow down the progression of muscle weakness and enhance muscle strength.

• Tamsulosin Hydrochloride (0.4 mg): As an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist, tamsulosin relaxes smooth muscles in the prostate and bladder neck. Its action eases urine flow and lessens symptoms of BPH such as frequent urination, weak stream, and incomplete bladder emptying. Tamsulosin primarily targets alpha-1A adrenergic receptors found in the prostate

• Store Defcort TM Capsule in a cool, dry place.

• The ideal storage temperature is between 20°C to 25°C.

• Shield the medicine from light.

• Keep it out of reach of children.

• Always ensure you use the medication before its expiry date.

• If you are dealing with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), maintaining a balanced diet can help manage this condition. Include high-fibre foods in your diet to aid digestion and prevent constipation, which can be a side effect of Defcort TM Capsule.

• For those managing benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), regular exercise such as walking or cycling can help improve urinary symptoms. Drinking water evenly throughout the day can also help avoid sudden urges to urinate.
