Dapanorm 10 Tablet 10

Dapanorm 10 Tablet is used to help control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes, and to help protect the heart and kidneys.

Uses of Dapanorm 10 Tablet are:

• Type 2 Diabetes: Helps lower blood sugar by removing excess glucose through urine.
• Heart Protection: Helps reduce the risk of heart failure hospitalisation.
• Kidney Protection: Helps slow the progression of diabetic kidney disease.

• Swallow the Dapanorm 10 Tablet whole with a glass of water or milk.
• Do not crush or chew the Dapanorm 10 Tablet, as this may affect the way the medication is absorbed in the body.
• Take the Dapanorm 10 Tablet at fixed times each day to maintain a consistent level of medication. 
• Do not change your Dapanorm 10 Tablet dose or take them more often than prescribed.

Dapanorm 10 Tablet is taken orally.

Dapagliflozin, the active ingredient in Dapanorm 10 Tablet, belongs to a class of drugs known as sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors. Dapagliflozin works by inhibiting the SGLT2 transporter in the kidneys. It reduces glucose reabsorption in the kidneys, allowing excess glucose to be excreted through urine. By increasing urinary glucose excretion, dapagliflozin helps to lower blood sugar levels in individuals with type 2 diabetes. 

• Store this medicine at a temperature below 30 ºC.
• Protect it from light and moisture.
• Keep Dapanorm 10 Tablet away from children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date has passed.

• To promote better blood sugar control and reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes, include foods with a low glycemic index in your diet. Some examples of these foods include green leafy vegetables, whole grains, berries, citrus fruits, chia seeds, bitter gourd, and extra virgin olive oil.
• Avoid deep-fried foods, as they can generate high levels of toxic compounds. These compounds can lead to inflammation and increase the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
• Processed and high-sugar foods should be limited in your diet, as they can cause sharp increases in blood sugar levels. Additionally, it is advisable to avoid refined sugar in any form. Instead, consider using natural sweeteners such as stevia, sugar alcohols, yacon syrup, allulose, and monk fruit sweeteners.
• Regular physical activity improves insulin sensitivity and effectively manages blood sugar levels.
• If you are a smoker, quitting is crucial, as smoking can heighten the risk of complications associated with diabetes.
• Monitor your sodium intake to prevent heart conditions associated with diabetes. It is recommended to keep your daily sodium intake below 5 grams.
• Monitor your blood sugar levels and communicate openly with your doctor to adjust your treatment plan.

• Patients undergoing dialysis should inform the doctor before taking Dapanorm 10 Tablet.
• Patients with hypotension (low blood pressure) should consult a doctor before taking Dapanorm 10 Tablet.
• Take the medication as your doctor prescribes, with meals and at the same time each day.
• Monitor your blood sugar levels regularly, and inform your doctor of any unusual symptoms or changes.
• Avoid consuming alcohol and limit your sugary and high-carbohydrate foods intake.
• Eat or drink something if you experience hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).
