COLCHOICE 0.5 TABLET 10 is used to treat and prevent gout flares in adults, easing the pain, swelling and inflammation of a gout attack. It is also used for familial Mediterranean fever (FMF), an inherited condition that causes recurring fever and inflammation, where it helps reduce attacks and prevent a complication called amyloidosis.
It contains colchicine, an anti-inflammatory medicine. Take it exactly as prescribed and do not exceed the stated dose, as too much can be harmful. Do not take extra doses to try to speed up relief.
Drinking plenty of fluids, limiting alcohol and purine-rich foods, and keeping to a healthy weight support gout control alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems before starting, and about other medicines you take, as some interact with colchicine. Report severe diarrhoea or vomiting, muscle pain or weakness, numbness or tingling, or signs of infection.
