Clop G Cream is used to treat inflamed skin conditions, such as eczema and dermatitis, that are infected with bacteria. It is a combination medicine containing clobetasol propionate, a very strong corticosteroid (steroid), and gentamicin, an antibiotic.
This medicine is also used for other steroid-responsive skin conditions, such as psoriasis, when bacterial infection is present. It reduces redness, itching and swelling while treating the infection. Apply a thin layer only to the affected skin as directed by your doctor, usually for no more than 2 weeks.
Keeping the skin clean, washing your hands after application and using a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser between applications can help the skin recover.
This cream is for use on the skin only. As it contains a very strong steroid, do not use it on the face, groin, underarms or large areas, or under airtight dressings, unless your doctor advises, and use it with great care in children. Before using it, tell your doctor if you have acne, rosacea, or a fungal or viral skin infection, and about other medicines you use. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Long or heavy use can thin the skin. Do not stop using this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
