Cipmox 500 Capsule is used to prevent and treat bacterial infections, including pneumonia, bronchitis, urinary tract infections, skin infections, and dental infections. It may also be combined with other antibiotics to treat H. pylori-related stomach ulcers. It belongs to the ‘penicillins’ class of antibiotics.

Cipmox 500 Capsule is used to treat bacterial infections in the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, ears, nose, and throat. It is also used to treat stomach ulcers by targeting the bacteria causing the condition and helping it heal.

Take the capsule with one whole glass of water.
Swallow the capsule as a whole; do not crush or chew it.
Take this capsule at a fixed time to maintain a consistent level of medication.

Cipmox 500 Capsule should be taken orally.

The common side effects of Cipmox 500 Capsule include:

Skin rash
Feeling sick (nausea)
Diarrhoea

Managing the Side Effects:

Most of the side effects of this capsule are usually mild and often do not require urgent medical attention. They improve with continued usage of the medicine. However, if the side effects persist or worsen or something other than that listed above occurs, inform your doctor immediately.

Cipmox 500 Capsule contains the following component:

Amoxicillin (500 mg): It is an antibiotic that kills the infection-causing bacteria by stopping its cell wall synthesis. Inhibition of cell wall formation means no multiplication and growth of bacteria. Hence, causing the death of bacteria.

Pregnancy

Cipmox 500 Capsule should be taken with caution if you are pregnant. Your doctor will prescribe this capsule during pregnancy only if clearly needed.

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding women should cautiously take Cipmox 500 Capsule as amoxycillin is excreted into breast milk. Inform your doctor that you are breastfeeding if this capsule is prescribed to you.

Alcohol

It is not recommended to take alcohol while taking Cipmox 500 Capsule as it can increase the risk of side effects.

Liver

Cipmox 500 Capsule should be used with caution in patients with liver diseases. Inform your doctor if you suffer from liver disease. If this capsule is prescribed for long duration, monitoring of liver parameters is required.

Kidney

Cipmox 500 Capsule should be used with caution in patients with kidney diseases. Inform your doctor if you suffer from kidney disease. If this capsule is prescribed for long duration, monitoring of kidney parameters is required.

Using Machines & Driving

Refrain from driving or operating machinery if you feel dizziness or any other symptoms that can hamper your ability to do these activities.

Allergy

If you are allergic to amoxycillin, do not take this medicine. Read the label carefully before using this medication.

Children

Your doctor will decide the dosage and duration of Cipmox 500 Capsule depending on your children’s weight and severity of the condition.

Older Patients

If you are 65 years or above, be cautious about the use of Cipmox 500 Capsule. Let your doctor know if you are taking any other medications and suffer from heart, liver or kidney diseases so that accordingly dosage and duration will be decided for taking this medicine.

Drug-Drug Interactions

Cipmox 500 Capsule may interact with following medications:

Gout medications like allopurinol, and probenecid when taken with this capsule can cause allergic skin rashes.
Antibiotics like tetracycline when taken with this capsule can reduce the effectiveness of this capsule.
Anti-cancer medicines like methotrexate when taken with this capusle can cause an increase in side effects.

Drug-Disease Interactions

Cipmox 500 Capsule may interact with following diseases/conditions:

Liver diseases: This capsule when taken for long-term can cause side effects in liver especially in patients suffering from liver diseases such as bruising of skin, darker urine, and jaundice.
Kidney diseases: This capsule can further worsen this disease.

Daily Dose

The recommended dose of Cipmox 500 Capsule is once daily with or without food or as directed by your doctor. The dosage may change based on individual factors such as age, severity of the condition, and response to the treatment. It is essential to follow the prescribed dosage and not exceed it without consulting your doctor.

Over Dose

If you or someone else takes an excessive amount of Cipmox 500 Capsule by accident, it is essential to take immediate medical advice from your doctor or nearby hospital in case you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms.

Missed Dose

If you forget to take a Cipmox 500 Capsule, take it as soon as you remember. But if the time for the next dosage is close, skipping the missed one is recommended and resuming your regular dosage pattern.
