Cefasyn 250 Tablet 10 is used to treat bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, ear, nose, throat, urinary tract, skin and soft tissues in adults, and is also used to manage gonorrhoea and Lyme disease.

1. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

2. Do not chew or crush the tablet.

3. It's best to take this medicine with food to better absorb it and minimise stomach discomfort.

Cefasyn 250 Tablet 10 contains cefuroxime (250 mg), which has the following effects on the body:

• Inhibits Cell Wall Synthesis: Cefuroxime inhibits the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, which is the protective layer surrounding bacteria.

• Deactivates Penicillin-Binding Proteins (PBPs): Cefuroxime binds with PBPs, which are enzymes involved in forming cross-links between peptidoglycan strands that form the bacterial cell wall.

• Promotes Cell Lysis: By disrupting cell wall synthesis, cefuroxime prompts a process called cell lysis, which leads to the death of susceptible bacteria.
