Cefakind-CV 250 Tablet is used for the following:

• Management of respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, and sinusitis

• Control of urinary tract infections

• Handling of skin and soft tissue bacterial infections

• Addressing both uncomplicated and disseminated gonorrhea

• Management of early stage Lyme disease

• Control of septicemia

• Management of meningitis

• Post-operative prophylaxis to prevent bacterial infections

Here's how to use Cefakind-CV 250 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew it.

• This medicine can be taken with or without food. However, taking it with meals can help reduce stomach upset.

• Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has directed.

• It's important not to stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Cefakind-CV 250 Tablet is taken orally.

Cefakind-CV 250 Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Cefuroxime (250 mg): As a second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, cefuroxime works by binding to penicillin-binding proteins found in bacteria. This disrupts the synthesis of their cell wall leading to weakening of the cell wall, which eventually causes cell lysis and death of the bacteria.

• Clavulanic Acid (125 mg): This ingredient is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that binds to and neutralises bacterial enzymes that could potentially destroy cefuroxime, thereby enhancing its effectiveness. By inhibiting these enzymes, clavulanic acid broadens the spectrum of activity of cefuroxime and reduces bacterial resistance.

• Store Cefakind-CV 250 Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 25°C.

• Protect it from exposure to light and moisture.

• Keep the medicine in a secure place, out of reach of children and pets.

• Use this medicine before its expiry date.

• If you are managing respiratory tract infections with Cefakind-CV 250 Tablet, minimise exposure to cold environments and allergens that can aggravate your condition.

• For urinary tract infections, increase your fluid intake, particularly water, to help flush out the bacteria from your system. Cranberry juice can also be beneficial.
