Cefmic Cv 250/125 MG Tablet 6 is a combination of two active ingredients:

• Cefuroxime (250 mg): This second-generation cephalosporin antibiotic works by hindering the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. It binds to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which disrupts the cross-linking of peptidoglycan, a key component of bacterial cell walls. The weakening of the cell wall leads to cell plasma or outer membrane breakdown and, eventually, death.

• Clavulanic Acid (125 mg): This ingredient does not have significant antimicrobial activity but acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor. It inactivates some beta-lactamase enzymes produced by bacteria that would otherwise degrade cefuroxime. It extends its antibiotic spectrum to include many beta-lactamase-producing bacteria that would have otherwise been resistant.
