Canesten Vaginal Cream 30gm

Canesten Vaginal Cream 30gm is used for managing the following conditions:

• Vaginal yeast infections (vaginal candidiasis)
• Relief from vaginal itching, burning, and irritation
• Management of vulvovaginitis caused by Candida species
• Relief from external genital fungal infection symptoms

Use Canesten Vaginal Cream 30gm in the following way:

• Wash and dry the affected area before use.
• Fill the applicator with cream.
• Insert the applicator gently into the vagina as deep as possible, preferably at bedtime.
• Press the plunger to release the cream completely.
• Remove and clean the applicator thoroughly after each use.
• For external use, apply a thin layer to the affected area for the duration as prescribed by the doctor.
• Complete the full course of treatment as advised by the doctor.

Canesten Vaginal Cream 30gm is applied intravaginally.

Canesten Vaginal Cream 30gm contains clotrimazole (2%):

• Clotrimazole inhibits ergosterol synthesis, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, thereby disrupting membrane integrity. This disruption leads to leakage of intracellular components, resulting in fungal cell death.

• Store below 25°C in a cool and dry place.
• Protect from direct sunlight and moisture.
• Keep the tube tightly closed.
• Keep out of reach and sight of children.

• Maintain good genital hygiene and keep the area dry.
• Wear loose-fitting cotton underwear to reduce moisture accumulation.
• Avoid use of scented soaps, douches, or irritants in the genital area.
• Limit intake of excessive sugar, as it may promote fungal growth.
• Ensure proper management of underlying conditions such as diabetes.
• Avoid sexual activity during treatment or use protection to prevent reinfection.
