Brimodin Eye Drops 5ml

Brimodin Eye Drops are used for the following:

• Lowering high eye pressure
• Preventing progressive optic nerve damage
• Reducing risk of visual field loss
• Slowing glaucoma progression
• Controlling inner eye pressure
• Preventing vision disability related to high eye pressure

Follow these instructions while using Brimodin Eye Drops:

• Wash your hands thoroughly before using the eye drops.
• Tilt your head back slightly and pull down your lower eyelid.
• Hold the bottle above your eye without touching any part of your eye.
• Put one drop into the affected eye by gently squeezing the bottle.
• Close your eyes for 2-3 minutes and press gently on the inner corner of your eye.
• Wait at least 5 minutes before using any other eye drops.
• Remove contact lenses before application and reinsert them after 15 minutes.
• Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.

Brimodin Eye Drops are instilled topically.

Brimodin Eye Drops contain two active ingredients:

• Brimonidine (0.2%): This component works as an alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist, which means it binds to specific receptors in the eye. It decreases the production of aqueous humour (the clear fluid in the front part of the eye) and increases the drainage of this fluid from the eye. This dual action helps lower the pressure inside the eye.
• Benzalkonium Chloride (0.005%): This serves as a preservative in the eye drops. It acts as an antimicrobial agent that prevents the growth of bacteria and other microorganisms in the solution. This helps maintain the sterility of the eye drops during their use and storage period.

• Store at room temperature below 25°C.
• Keep the bottle protected from light.
• Ensure the bottle is tightly closed when not in use.
• Discard the eye drops 4 weeks after opening the bottle.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.

• Maintain regular physical activity such as walking or swimming, as moderate exercise can help reduce eye pressure in open-angle glaucoma.
• Wear sunglasses outdoors to reduce eye strain and protect from UV radiation, which may worsen symptoms of glaucoma.
