Brimodin 0.2% Eye Drops 5ml is used to lower high pressure inside the eye in people with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing brimonidine, and belongs to a class of medicines called alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonists.
This medicine works by decreasing the production of aqueous humour, the clear fluid in the front part of the eye, and increasing its drainage, which together help lower the pressure inside the eye and reduce the risk of vision loss. Wash your hands before use, instil the number of drops recommended by your doctor, and wait at least 10 minutes before using any other eye medicine.
If you wear soft contact lenses, remove them before using the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back in. Avoid touching the dropper tip to your eye or any surface to prevent contamination.
Tell your doctor about any heart or blood pressure conditions, and about any other medicines you are taking, before starting this medicine. Use with caution during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Report any unusual dizziness, blurred vision or eye irritation to your doctor.
