AXZYB 5MG TABLET 30 is used for the following:

• Advanced kidney cancer, specifically renal cell carcinoma (RCC)

• Cases unresponsive to prior therapies like sunitinib or cytokine treatment

Follow these instructions while taking AXZYB 5MG TABLET 30:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Take this medicine at the same time each day, approximately 12 hours apart.

• You can take this tablet with or without food.

• Do not crush, break, or chew the tablet.

• Continue taking this medicine regularly for the duration prescribed by your doctor.

AXZYB 5MG TABLET 30 is taken orally.

AXZYB 5MG TABLET 30 contains axitinib (5 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Tyrosine kinase inhibition: Axitinib blocks specific proteins called tyrosine kinases that signal cancer cells to multiply and grow, helping to slow down cancer progression.

• Anti-angiogenic effect: It prevents the formation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis) that tumours need for growth and survival, effectively starving the cancer cells of nutrients and oxygen.

• Vascular endothelial growth factor receptor blockade: The medicine specifically targets receptors known as VEGFRs (vascular endothelial growth factor receptors), which play a crucial role in the development of blood vessels that feed tumours.

• Tumour microenvironment modification: By interfering with blood vessel formation, axitinib alters the environment around the tumour, making it less conducive for cancer growth and spread.

• Store AXZYB 5MG TABLET 30 at room temperature (below 30°C).

• Keep in the original packaging until use to protect from light and moisture.

• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

• Always keep this medicine out of reach of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Dispose of unused medicine according to local regulations.

• Monitor your blood pressure regularly while taking this medicine, as kidney cancer treatment with axitinib commonly causes hypertension (high blood pressure). Consider following a low-sodium diet to help manage blood pressure levels.
