Ascoril Plus Expectorant is a medicine used to relieve cough and help clear respiratory secretions in conditions like productive cough and bronchitis. It contains an expectorant that helps thin and loosen thick phlegm, making it easier to cough up.
Take it as prescribed, usually with a spoon. Do not dilute with water. Take the dose as directed without exceeding the recommended amount. Continue taking it for the recommended duration. Do not stop taking it abruptly without consulting your doctor.
Staying well hydrated helps loosen respiratory secretions naturally. Drink plenty of water and warm fluids such as tea or warm lemon water; use a humidifier or steam inhalation to keep airways moist; elevate your head while sleeping to help phlegm drainage; get adequate rest; and avoid smoke and pollutants which thicken secretions.
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, diabetes, heart disease, or are taking other medicines. Inform your doctor if cough persists for more than one week, if you cough up blood, or if phlegm changes colour to green or yellow. This medicine may cause drowsiness; avoid driving or operating machinery if affected.
