Controlling blood pressure and heart rate together helps lower the risk of heart attack and stroke. Take it with or without food at the same time each day, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor.

Before starting, tell your doctor if you have asthma or breathing problems, a very slow heart rate or diabetes, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Mild ankle swelling is common; tell your doctor if it becomes severe. Do not stop this medicine suddenly, as this can cause a sharp rise in heart rate or chest pain. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
