CompositionAmlovas-M 5/50 Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure and to prevent chest pain from angina in adults. It is a combination medicine containing amlodipine 5mg, a calcium channel blocker, and metoprolol succinate 50mg, an extended-release beta blocker.
Amlodipine relaxes the blood vessels, while metoprolol slows the heart rate and reduces the force of each heartbeat, lowering blood pressure and the heart's oxygen needs. Take it once a day at the same time, swallowed whole without crushing or chewing, and continue even when you feel well.

Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly, as this can cause chest pain, a fast heartbeat or a heart attack; your doctor will reduce the dose gradually. Before starting, tell your doctor if you have asthma or other breathing problems, a slow heartbeat or heart block, uncontrolled heart failure, very low blood pressure, severe circulation problems, diabetes, liver disease or thyroid problems, and about other medicines you take. It can hide the warning signs of low blood sugar. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Seek medical help for wheezing, a very slow heartbeat, fainting, marked ankle swelling or worsening breathlessness. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
