CompositionAllegra Suspension is used to relieve allergy symptoms in children, such as sneezing, a runny nose, itchy watery eyes, and skin rashes. It gives long-lasting relief from allergic rhinitis and chronic hives (urticaria).
It contains fexofenadine, a non-drowsy antihistamine, and works by blocking histamine, the chemical in the body that triggers allergic symptoms. Give it by mouth under adult supervision, using the measuring cup or syringe provided. Avoid giving it with fruit juices, as these may reduce how well the medicine is absorbed.
Alongside this medicine, try to identify and reduce your child's exposure to known allergy triggers such as dust, pollen, pet fur, or particular foods. Keeping the home well ventilated and washing bedding regularly can also help lower allergy symptoms.
Before giving this medicine, tell your child's doctor about any kidney problems or other medicines your child is taking. The dose may need to be adjusted for younger children. Consult a doctor if your child has any pre-existing medical conditions or if symptoms do not improve.
