CompositionAlcros 100 Capsule is used to manage a variety of fungal infections. Containing itraconazole, it inhibits the growth and proliferation of fungi. It is used for pulmonary and extrapulmonary Blastomycosis, non-meningeal histoplasmosis, Aspergillosis, and onychomycosis (fungal infection affecting nails) in patients who cannot tolerate or do not respond to amphotericin B.
Alcros 100 Capsule is used for managing pulmonary and extrapulmonary blastomycosis, chronic cavitary pulmonary disease and disseminated, non-meningeal histoplasmosis, and pulmonary and extrapulmonary aspergillosis. It also manages onychomycosis (fungal infection of the nails) caused by dermatophytes. Containing Itraconazole (a Triazole antifungal), it provides broad coverage for both deep-seated systemic fungal infections and superficial nail infections.
Take this medicine orally with a full meal to ensure maximum absorption.
Swallow the capsule whole. Avoid crushing, breaking or chewing it.
It's crucial to complete the full course of medication as advised by your doctor, even if symptoms seem to improve before completion.

Alcros 100 Capsule contains itraconaole (100 mg). It acts on the body in the following ways
Inhibits Fungal Enzyme: Itraconazole works by blocking a key fungal enzyme known as lanosterol 14α-demethylase. This enzyme plays a crucial role in forming ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane.
Disrupts Fungal Cell Membrane: By inhibiting lanosterol 14α-demethylase, Itraconazole disrupts the synthesis of ergosterol, leading to increased cell membrane permeability and leakage of cellular contents.
Halts Fungal Proliferation: Besides disrupting the fungal cell membrane, Itraconazole also prevents the proliferation and growth of fungi, thereby managing various types of fungal infections.
Alcros 100 Capsule is contraindicated during pregnancy. If you are pregnant or planning to conceive, make sure to discuss this with your doctor before starting this medicine.
Caution is advised while taking Alcros 100 Capsule if you are breastfeeding. It is best to consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
