Acivir 200 Dt Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Management of initial episodes of genital herpes simplex infections
• Reduction of recurrent episodes of genital herpes simplex infections
• Control of mucocutaneous herpes simplex infections in patients with weakened immune systems
• Management of herpes zoster, also known as shingles
• Control of varicella, commonly known as chickenpox, in immune-competent patients
• Prevention of herpes simplex infections in immunocompromised patients

• Disperse one tablet in a teaspoonful of water immediately before administration.
• It's important not to exceed the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.
• Do not stop taking this medicine without speaking to your doctor first.

Acivir 200 Dt Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Acivir 200 Dt Tablet 10 contains aciclovir (200 mg), which has the following effects on the body:

• Inhibits viral replication: Aciclovir turns into its active form, aciclovir triphosphate, inside your body. This active form disrupts the replication of herpes viruses by competitively inhibiting a viral enzyme called DNA polymerase.
• Prevents viral DNA chain growth: Aciclovir triphosphate incorporates itself into the growing viral DNA chain. By doing so, it stops the chain from growing further, thereby blocking viral replication.
