AB Phylline Syrup is used to clear chest congestion and ease breathing in adults and children with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchial asthma, and bronchitis. It is especially helpful when mucus is too thick to cough out and the chest feels tight.
It contains acebrophylline, which relaxes the muscles of the airways to open them and, at the same time, thins sticky mucus so it can be cleared more easily. It also has mild anti-inflammatory action. Measure the dose carefully and take it as prescribed, usually after meals.
Simple measures support recovery. Drink plenty of warm fluids to help thin the mucus, avoid smoky or dusty environments, and rest adequately during the illness.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any heart rhythm problems or liver disease, and about other medicines you take. Report any marked palpitations, restlessness, or difficulty sleeping.
