Composition7 LA Sugar Free Suspension is used to relieve acidity, heartburn, indigestion and stomach pain linked to excess acid, gastritis and stomach ulcers, along with gas and bloating. It is a combination medicine containing aluminium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide (antacids), simethicone (an anti-foaming agent) and oxetacaine (a local anaesthetic).
The antacids neutralise excess stomach acid, simethicone breaks up trapped gas, and oxetacaine numbs the irritated stomach lining to relieve pain quickly. Shake the bottle well and take the dose with the measuring cup, usually before or after meals and at bedtime, as advised by your doctor.
Eating smaller, regular meals, avoiding spicy and fatty food, limiting tea, coffee and alcohol, and not lying down soon after eating help reduce acidity.
Leave at least 2 hours between this medicine and other medicines, as antacids can reduce their absorption. It is not recommended for children. Before taking it, tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, as aluminium and magnesium can build up, or low phosphate levels. Oxetacaine can cause drowsiness or dizziness, so take care when driving. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Seek medical help for black stools, vomiting of blood, severe stomach pain, difficulty swallowing or unexplained weight loss, and see your doctor if symptoms last more than 2 weeks. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
