Composition5 Mono Sr 30 Tablet 10 is used for the long-term prevention of angina in people with coronary artery disease. It helps reduce how often and how severely angina episodes occur.
It contains isosorbide mononitrate, a nitrate. The "SR" form releases the medicine slowly over the day. Take it regularly as prescribed to prevent angina; it is not for relieving a sudden attack, for which your doctor may give a separate fast-acting nitrate.
Pacing your activity, quitting smoking and eating a heart-healthy diet support your heart alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any low blood pressure or recent heart attack before starting, and about other medicines you take, especially those for erectile problems, which must not be combined with nitrates. Report fainting, severe headache or a fast heartbeat.
