Isonorm-30 SR Tablet is used for the following.

Uses of Isonorm-30 SR Tablet are:

• Angina Prevention: Prevents and manages long-term angina pectoris, chest discomfort caused by insufficient blood supply to the heart.
• Heart Workload: Reduces the workload on the heart by widening blood vessels and improving blood flow.

Here are some instructions you should follow while taking Isonorm-30 SR Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, break or chew it.

• Stick to your usual dosing schedule and do not stop this medicine abruptly. Always consult your doctor before making any changes to your medication schedule.

• Remember, this is a sustained-release tablet, designed to release medicine slowly into your body. Breaking it may cause too much medicine to be released at one time.

Isonorm-30 SR Tablet is taken orally.

Isonorm-30 SR Tablet contains Isosorbide Mononitrate (30 mg), which works on your body in the following ways:

• Nitric Oxide Release: Isosorbide mononitrate releases nitric oxide within your body. Nitric oxide is a natural chemical that relaxes and widens your blood vessels.

• Activation of Guanylate Cyclase: The released nitric oxide actives an enzyme called guanylate cyclase. This enzyme increases the production of another substance called cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP).

• Vascular Smooth Muscle Relaxation: The increased cGMP relaxes vascular smooth muscle cells in your blood vessels, causing them to widen.

• Vasodilation and Reduced Cardiac Workload: As a result of the relaxation and widening of blood vessels, there's improved blood flow to the heart muscle which decreases the workload on your heart.

• Store Isonorm-30 SR Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Keep it in the original packaging to protect it from light and moisture.

• Always keep this medication out of reach of children.

• Ensure you use the medicine before its expiry date.

• Regular physical activity can help manage angina. Include gentle exercises like walking or swimming in your daily routine, but remember to avoid overexertion as it may trigger angina attacks.
