Zedocef 50 Oral Suspension is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections in children, including respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia, bronchitis and tonsillitis, and ear, nose and throat infections such as otitis media and sinusitis.
It contains cefixime, which belongs to a group of antibiotics called cephalosporins, known for their broad-spectrum antibacterial activity. It also treats urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and typhoid fever. Give the exact dose prescribed by your doctor, based on your child's age, weight and the severity of the infection, using the measuring cup or spoon provided.
Give this suspension at evenly spaced times through the day, and complete the full course prescribed, even if your child starts to feel better, to help fully clear the infection and reduce the chance of it returning.
Before giving this medicine, tell the doctor about any pre-existing conditions your child has, or any ongoing medicine. Remember that this medicine only treats bacterial infections; it will not help with viral illnesses such as the common cold or flu. Notify the doctor if any side effects occur.
