Zedocef 50 Suspension 30Ml

Zedocef 50 Oral Suspension is used to treat bacterial infections in children, including respiratory, ear, nose and throat, urinary tract, skin and soft tissue infections, and typhoid fever.

Uses of Zedocef 50 Oral Suspension are:

• Respiratory Infections: Treats pneumonia, bronchitis and tonsillitis.
• Ear, Nose and Throat Infections: Treats otitis media and sinusitis.
• Urinary Tract Infections: Treats infections such as cystitis and pyelonephritis.
• Skin and Typhoid Infections: Treats skin and soft tissue infections, and typhoid fever.

Administer Zedocef 50 Oral Suspension to your child as follows:

• Shake the bottle well before use.

• Measure the exact quantity recommended by your child's doctor using a spoon or cup.

• Remember to give the suspension to your child one hour before or two hours after meals for optimal absorption.

• If your child vomits within 30 minutes of taking a dose, repeat the same dose.

• Consult your doctor for more specific instructions.

Zedocef 50 Oral Suspension is given orally.

Zedocef 50 Oral Suspension contains cefpodoxime proxetil (50 mg) which acts on the body in the following ways:

• Inhibits Cell Wall Synthesis: Cefpodoxime inhibits the synthesis of bacterial cell walls by binding to and inactivating certain proteins known as penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). These proteins play a crucial part in building peptidoglycan, a major component of bacterial cell walls.

• Causes Cell Lysis: By disrupting cell wall synthesis, cefpodoxime causes bacterial cells to burst open or undergo lysis. This leads to the death of the bacteria thereby managing the infection effectively.

• Store Zedocef 50 Oral Suspension in a cool, dry place at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Keep away from direct sunlight.

• After mixing with water, keep the medicine in the fridge and use within 7 days.

• Dispose of any remaining product after this period.

• Always keep this medication out of your child's reach.

• Encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids, as this can help reduce some side effects like nausea that can be caused by Zedocef 50 Oral Suspension.

• For skin and soft tissue infections managed by this medicine, maintain good hygiene habits for your child, such as regular hand washing and keeping wounds clean and covered to prevent further infection.
