Composition

Efavirenz (600 Mg) + Emtricitabine (200 Mg) + Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate (300 Mg)

Viraday Tablet is a combination antiretroviral medicine used to treat HIV-1 infection in adults. It reduces the amount of HIV in the blood and helps the immune system function better, but it does not cure HIV.

It contains efavirenz, emtricitabine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate. These medicines block different steps that HIV needs to make new copies of itself.

Take it exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip doses or stop treatment without medical advice, because this can cause the infection to become resistant to treatment.

Efavirenz (600 mg): As a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI), efavirenz works by binding to and blocking the activity of the HIV-1 reverse transcriptase enzyme. This prevents the conversion of viral RNA into DNA, which is a crucial step in the replication of HIV.
Emtricitabine (200 mg): This ingredient is a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI). After being phosphorylated within cells, emtricitabine competes with natural nucleosides and integrates into the growing viral DNA chain, resulting in chain termination.
Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate (300 mg): Similar to emtricitabine, tenofovir disoproxil fumarate is also an NRTI. Post-phosphorylation, it incorporates itself into the viral DNA chain, causing termination.
