• Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. Avoid chewing or crushing it.
• If you're also taking bile acid sequestrants like cholestyramine or colestipol, ensure there's a gap of at least 34 hours between their administration and this medicine.
• Continue taking the medicine for the full duration prescribed by your doctor, even if your symptoms improve before completion.

Vanlid 250 mg Capsule contains vancomycin (250 mg), which acts on your body in the following ways:

• Binds to Bacterial Cell Wall Precursors: Vancomycin attaches itself to the building blocks that bacteria use to construct their cell walls.
• Inhibits Cell Wall Synthesis: By binding to these precursors, vancomycin prevents them from being incorporated into the bacterial cell wall.
• Causes Bacterial Death: As a result of this inhibition, the bacterial cell wall becomes weakened and eventually leads to the death of the bacteria.
