UBEXA 80 Tablet 10 is used to manage gout by lowering high uric acid levels in adults who cannot tolerate, do not respond adequately to, or for whom allopurinol is not appropriate, helping to prevent recurrent gout attacks, joint inflammation and long-term joint damage.
It contains febuxostat, a xanthine oxidase inhibitor that reduces the production of uric acid. Take it as prescribed. It is often used in people who cannot tolerate, or do not respond well to, allopurinol. Continue taking it regularly, as stopping suddenly can increase the risk of a gout flare-up.
Limiting foods high in purines, such as red meat, organ meat and certain seafood, drinking plenty of water, limiting alcohol and maintaining a healthy weight support better control of uric acid alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor if you have heart disease, kidney disease or liver problems before starting. Report chest pain, shortness of breath, joint pain or swelling, or any new skin rash promptly.
