TORVATE CHRONO 500 TABLET 10 is used to control seizures in epilepsy, including several seizure types, to help stabilise mood in bipolar disorder, and to help prevent migraine attacks, by calming overactive electrical signals in the brain.

Uses of TORVATE CHRONO 500 TABLET 10 are:

• Epilepsy: Helps control and prevent several types of seizure.
• Bipolar Disorder: Helps stabilise mood in manic episodes.
• Migraine: Helps prevent migraine attacks.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush or chew the tablet.
• Take this medicine as directed by your doctor.
• Abruptly stopping this medicine can worsen your condition. Always consult your doctor before making any changes to how you take this medication.

TORVATE CHRONO 500 TABLET 10 is taken orally.

TORVATE CHRONO 500 TABLET 10 contains sodium valproate/valproic acid (500 mg), which works on your body as follows:

• Increases GABA Levels: Sodium valproate/valproic acid increases the levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in your brain. GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter that calms down nerve activity in the brain.
• Enhanced GABA Synthesis: The medicine may help enhance GABA synthesis, further boosting its calming effect.
• Reduced GABA Degradation: Sodium valproate/valproic acid may reduce the degradation of GABA, ensuring that it remains effective for longer.
• Direct Neuronal Effects: This medication might have direct effects on neuronal membranes, contributing to its overall effectiveness in managing seizures, stabilising mood and preventing migraines.
