CompositionTofatas Tablet is used to manage moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and ulcerative colitis in adults. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing tofacitinib, and belongs to a class of medicines called Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors.
This medicine reduces joint pain, swelling and progressive structural damage, and is typically prescribed when other disease-modifying medicines have proven ineffective. Take it as prescribed, and your doctor may screen for latent infections such as tuberculosis before starting treatment. Use the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor.
Consistent use as directed, together with any physiotherapy or dietary advice your doctor recommends, helps maintain remission and prevent flare-ups.
Tell your doctor about any active or recent infections, a history of blood clots, heart disease, cancer or liver problems before starting this medicine, and about any other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Speak to your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Report signs of infection such as fever or chills, or symptoms of a blood clot such as leg swelling or breathlessness, and report any side effects that persist or become serious. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
