Tofashine 5 mg Tablet is used to treat moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ulcerative colitis, and ankylosing spondylitis in adults. It helps reduce joint pain, swelling, and stiffness, and supports the ability to carry out daily activities with less discomfort. It is also used for juvenile idiopathic arthritis in children aged 2 years and older.
It contains tofacitinib, which belongs to a group of medicines called JAK inhibitors. Take it as prescribed by your doctor, with or without food. It is important to take it at the same time each day and to continue it regularly, as stopping treatment may cause symptoms to return.
While taking this medicine, avoid contact with people who have active infections, as this medicine can lower the body's ability to fight infections. Inform your doctor of any signs of infection such as fever, chills, or persistent cough.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any history of serious infections, tuberculosis (TB), liver or kidney problems, or blood clotting disorders. Regular blood tests to monitor blood counts and liver function are typically required. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this medicine.
