Timolet 0.5% Eye Drops are used to lower raised pressure inside the eye in open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension, which helps protect the optic nerve and preserve long-term vision.
They contain timolol, a beta-blocker. It works by reducing the amount of fluid the eye makes, which lowers the pressure inside the eye.
Put the drops into the affected eye as directed, then press gently on the inner corner of the eye for a minute. Use them regularly even without symptoms, and do not stop without medical advice, as raised pressure often causes no pain.
Because a small amount can be absorbed into the body, tell your doctor about any asthma, other lung conditions, a slow heart rate or heart problems before use. Tell your doctor about all other medicines and eye drops.
