Glucomol 0.5% Eye Drops are used to lower raised eye pressure.

Uses of Glucomol 0.5% Eye Drops are:

• Ocular Hypertension: Lowers raised eye pressure in people at risk of glaucoma.
• Open-Angle Glaucoma: Reduces eye pressure to help protect the optic nerve.
• Vision Protection: Helps prevent damage to the optic nerve from high pressure.

Use Glucomol 0.5% Eye Drops as follows:

• Clean your hands before handling the medicine.

• Tilt your head back and gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.

• Hold the dropper above the eye, squeeze out one drop and close your eye.

• Do not blink or rub your eye immediately after application.

• If you are using another ophthalmic medication, wait at least 5 minutes before instiling the next medication.

• It's important not to stop using this medicine without consulting your doctor first.

Glucomol 0.5% Eye Drops contains two active components:

• Timolol (0.5%): This component works by blocking beta receptors in the ciliary epithelium of the eye. As a result, the synthesis of cyclic AMP is reduced, leading to decreased secretion of aqueous humour, which is a fluid in the eye. This process helps in controlling the intraocular pressure.

• Benzalkonium Chloride (0.01%): Used as a preservative in this medicine, benzalkonium chloride acts against bacteria by disrupting their cell membranes.
