• Sodium and Chloride Reabsorption Inhibition: Torsemide works by blocking the reabsorption of sodium and chloride in certain parts of your kidneys. This leads to an increase in the excretion of these electrolytes along with water into the urine.

• Increased Diuresis: By reducing sodium reabsorption, torsemide enhances the concentration of the fluid in the renal tubules, preventing water reabsorption throughout the nephron. The result is increased urine output consisting of water, sodium, chloride, and other electrolytes.

• Blood Volume and Pressure Reduction: The increased elimination of fluid lowers blood volume and pressure, reducing strain on your heart.
