Contraindications

• The medication is not recommended in patients with a known allergy to Torsemide and severe liver and kidney conditions.

Other Medications to Avoid

• Inform your doctor if you are taking medications for irregular heartbeats, such as amiodarone, digoxin, disopyramide, flecainide, or sotalol. Also, mention if you are using medicines that affect potassium levels in the blood, including potassium supplements, steroids, or other diuretics. Additionally, let your doctor know if you are on medications for mental health conditions, such as amisulpride, lithium, pimozide, or risperidone. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like diclofenac, ibuprofen, and naproxen, as well as medications for high blood pressure and ulcer treatments like sucralfate, may also interact with Torsemide.

Overdose and Missed Dose

• An overdose of this medication may cause symptoms like excessive urination, dehydration, and electrolyte imbalances. If you observe these symptoms, inform your doctor and follow the advice accordingly.
• If you forget to take this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. But avoid repeating the dose.

Management of Side Effects

• Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless and resolve when discontinuing this medicine. However, if you experience any severe side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

Use in Driving and Operating Machinery

• This medication may impair your ability to drive and operate heavy machinery.

Caution in Other Conditions

• Inform your doctor if you have low blood pressure (hypotension), kidney disease (renal dysfunction), liver disease (cirrhosis), diabetes (high blood sugar levels), gout (hyperuricemia), low potassium levels (hypokalemia), absence of urine output (anuria), or any other cardiovascular conditions.

• Engage in regular physical activity for at least 150 minutes per week or 30 minutes most days, as this can help reduce blood pressure by about 5 mmHg.

• Avoid alcohol consumption and quit smoking to lower the risk of heart disease. Manage stress effectively by spending time with loved ones and practicing mindfulness. 
• Monitor your blood pressure regularly and consult your doctor if significant fluctuations occur. Incorporate heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids into your diet, and use low-fat cooking oils like olive oil, soybean oil, canola oil, and coconut oil to help maintain healthy blood pressure levels.
