Tenacid-MF Tablet is used to control heavy period bleeding and relieve painful menstrual cramps and mild to moderate pain.

Tenacid-MF Tablet consists of two active components:

• Mefenamic Acid (250 mg): This component belongs to the NSAID class. It works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2). By doing so, it reduces the production of prostaglandins which are responsible for causing inflammation, pain, and fever. Thus, mefenamic acid exhibits analgesic (pain-relieving) and antipyretic (fever-reducing) properties.
• Tranexamic Acid (500 mg): As an antifibrinolytic agent, tranexamic acid aids in stabilising blood clots. It does so by preventing the conversion of plasminogen to plasmin, an enzyme that breaks down fibrin clots. This action ensures that blood clots are not prematurely dissolved thereby reducing bleeding.

These combined actions contribute to the effective management of pain and heavy menstrual bleeding.

• Avoid storing the medicine in direct sunlight and damp places like bathrooms.
