Telmikind CT 40 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults, particularly when a single medicine is not enough to control it. Keeping blood pressure under control lowers the risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney problems.
It contains telmisartan and chlorthalidone, belonging to groups of medicines called angiotensin receptor blockers and diuretics (water tablets). Telmisartan relaxes and widens blood vessels, while chlorthalidone helps the body remove excess salt and water. Take it as prescribed, preferably in the morning to avoid night-time urination, and continue even if you feel well.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight and limiting alcohol support blood pressure control alongside this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems, gout, diabetes or other medicines you take, and whether you are pregnant or planning pregnancy, as it is not suitable in pregnancy. Stand up slowly to reduce dizziness, and your doctor may check your kidney function and blood salts periodically.
