Telmikind CT 40 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults, particularly when a single medicine is not enough to control it. Keeping blood pressure under control helps lower the risk of serious problems such as heart attack and stroke and helps protect the kidneys.
It contains telmisartan and chlorthalidone, which belong to groups of medicines called angiotensin receptor blockers and diuretics (water tablets). Telmisartan relaxes and widens the blood vessels, while chlorthalidone helps the body remove excess salt and water, lowering blood pressure. Take it daily, preferably in the morning to avoid night-time urination, and continue even if you feel well.
Healthy lifestyle changes support blood pressure control alongside this medicine. These include reducing salt in your diet, staying physically active, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems, gout, diabetes, or other medicines you take, and whether you are pregnant or planning pregnancy, as it is not suitable in pregnancy. Stand up slowly to reduce dizziness, and your doctor may check your kidney function and blood salts from time to time.
