Telista-CH 40 Tablet is a combination medicine used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults whose condition is not adequately controlled by single-agent therapy. Lowering blood pressure reduces the long-term risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney failure.
It contains telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker, and chlorthalidone, a thiazide-like diuretic. Take it in the morning as prescribed, with or without food. Continue taking it regularly even if you feel well, as hypertension often causes no symptoms. Do not stop taking it suddenly.
Adopting heart-healthy habits is vital for optimal blood pressure management. Reduce dietary sodium (salt), exercise regularly, maintain a healthy body weight, limit alcohol consumption, and avoid tobacco product use.
Before starting treatment, tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems, gout, diabetes, or electrolyte imbalances. Your doctor may check blood pressure, kidney function, and blood potassium levels periodically. This medicine must be stopped immediately if pregnancy is confirmed.
