Tazar 4.5g Injection 1

Tazar 4.5g Injection is used to manage severe bacterial infections affecting different parts of the body. It is effective in treating lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, intra-abdominal infections, gynaecological infections, bloodstream infections, and febrile neutropenia associated with low white blood cell counts.

You should administer Tazar 4.5g Injection as follows:

• This injection needs to be administered by a healthcare professional.

• It's advised not to self-administer this medicine at home.

• The injection can be given directly into a vein.

• Always ensure the injection area is clean and properly sterilised before use.

• If you encounter any discomfort while receiving the injection, inform your doctor immediately.

• Consult your doctor for specific advice about how frequently to receive this medicine.

Tazar 4.5g Injection is administered via intravenous (IV) route.

Tazar 4.5g Injection contain two active ingredients:

• Piperacillin (4000 mg): This component works as a broad-spectrum antibiotic. It inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). PBPs are enzymes involved in the final stages of constructing the bacterial cell wall, so inhibiting them disrupts bacterial growth.

• Tazobactam (500 mg): This substance is a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Beta-lactamases are enzymes produced by bacteria that degrade some antibiotics, rendering them ineffective. Tazobactam blocks these beta-lactamases, preventing them from degrading the piperacillin and allowing it to effectively kill bacteria.

• Always store Tazar 4.5g Injection in a cool and dry place, preferably at a temperature of 30°C.

• Keep it away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Ensure it is kept out of reach and sight of children.

• Always check the expiry date before using the Tazar 4.5g Injection.

• Include plenty of fluids in your diet to prevent dehydration, especially if you have diarrhoea, a condition that this medicine can manage.

• Regularly consume probiotic-rich foods like yoghurt to maintain a healthy gut flora balance as antibiotics like Tazar 4.5g Injection can disrupt these beneficial bacteria.
