TAMPIL 0.4 CAPSULE 10 is a medicine used to manage the urinary symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a common condition in adult men where the prostate gland becomes enlarged. It helps relieve symptoms such as difficulty starting urination, weak urine flow, frequent urination, and the need to wake at night to pass urine.
Urinfen 0.4 Capsule contains tamsulosin in a prolonged-release form. It is usually taken after meal at the same each day. Swallow the capsule whole with water; do not crush, chew, or open it, as this can affect how the medicine works. It is generally taken long term, and some improvement in symptoms may take a few weeks to become noticeable.
Certain lifestyle adjustments can help reduce urinary symptoms alongside this medicine. These include limiting fluids before bedtime, reducing caffeine and alcohol intake, and emptying the bladder fully when you go. Regular check-ups help monitor prostate health while on treatment.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have low blood pressure, liver problems, or are taking other medicines (including erectile dysfunction medicines). Stand up slowly from sitting or lying down to reduce the risk of dizziness, especially when you first start the medicine. Tell your eye doctor that you are taking this medicine before any planned cataract surgery, as it can affect the procedure.
