CompositionT MART AM Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by a single medicine. It combines telmisartan, an angiotensin receptor blocker, with amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker.
Telmisartan relaxes and widens blood vessels by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that narrows them, while amlodipine relaxes blood vessel muscle directly, and together they help lower the risk of long-term complications such as heart attack and stroke.
Take this tablet as prescribed at the same time each day, with or without food, exactly as your doctor prescribes, and continue even if you feel well.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy, as this combination is not suitable in pregnancy. Have your kidney function and blood salts checked periodically, and report swelling of the ankles, dizziness, or flushing.
