Mext 7.5 F Tablet is used to manage active rheumatoid arthritis and moderate to severe psoriasis in adults. It reduces inflammation and calms the overactive immune response that drives these conditions.
It contains methotrexate 7.5 mg and folic acid 1 mg in a combikit, which reduces the risk of methotrexate-related side effects. Methotrexate is taken once weekly, not daily. Folic acid is taken on a different day of the week to methotrexate. Take it exactly as prescribed; accidental daily use of methotrexate can be fatal. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.
Avoiding alcohol entirely and attending all blood test appointments (liver function, full blood count, and kidney function) are essential parts of managing treatment safely alongside this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any liver problems, kidney disease, active infections, or lung disease, or if you are taking other medicines. Both women and men must use effective contraception during treatment, as methotrexate can seriously harm an unborn baby. Do not become pregnant during treatment.
