Sucrachem Suspension 100ml is used for the short-term treatment of active duodenal ulcers. It is also used to manage heartburn, acid reflux and gastritis by relieving stomach discomfort and bloating.
It contains sucralfate, which forms a protective coating over the ulcer and stomach lining, shielding it from stomach acid and allowing it to heal. Take it on an empty stomach, generally before meals and at bedtime, as prescribed by your doctor.
Avoid taking antacids at the same time as this medicine, as they can reduce its effectiveness; leave a gap of at least half an hour if both are prescribed. Eating smaller, more frequent meals and avoiding spicy or acidic foods can help ease symptoms further.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney problems or are taking other medicines, as sucralfate can affect the absorption of some medicines. Contact your doctor if you notice black or tarry stools, severe stomach pain, or if your symptoms do not improve.
