Stavir 40 Capsule 10

Stavir 40 Capsule 10 is used for:

• Management of HIV infection in adults and children as part of combination therapy.
• Reducing the risk of AIDS-related illnesses and complications.
• Preventing HIV transmission from mother to child during childbirth when combined with other medicines.
   

• Swallow the capsule whole with water.
• It may be taken with or without food. Taking it with food may help reduce stomach discomfort.
• Always follow the dosing schedule advised by your doctor.
• Do not stop taking Stavir 40 Capsule 10 suddenly without consulting your doctor, as this may lead to worsening of the infection.
   

Stavir 40 Capsule 10 is meant for oral use only.
 

Stavir 40 Capsule 10 contains following active ingredient:

• Stavudine (40 mg): Stavudine works by blocking the activity of an enzyme called reverse transcriptase, which HIV needs to replicate. By incorporating itself into viral DNA, it causes chain termination, thereby preventing the virus from multiplying inside the body. This action helps maintain lower levels of the virus and allows the immune system to function more effectively.

• Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C.
• Protect from light and moisture.
• Keep out of reach and sight of children.
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.
