Stamlo D Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure and to help with certain types of chest pain (angina). It may also be prescribed to help remove excess fluid from the body in people with swelling related to heart or other conditions.
It contains amlodipine and hydrochlorothiazide, two medicines that lower blood pressure in different ways. Take it at the same time each day, preferably in the morning to reduce nighttime toilet trips, with or without food as prescribed.
Lifestyle changes support blood pressure control alongside this medicine. These include reducing salt, eating more fruit and vegetables, staying active, keeping to a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol. Adequate potassium intake (from food) may help if you are prone to low potassium.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems, gout, diabetes, or low potassium. Your doctor may check your kidney function and electrolytes. Tell your doctor about ankle swelling, muscle cramps, or unusual thirst. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
