Sitahenz M Od Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Managing type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults

• Controlling high blood sugar when diet and exercise aren't enough

• Improving glycaemic control in diabetic patients

• Supplementing treatment when metformin alone is inadequate

• Reducing liver glucose production

• Enhancing insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues

• Increasing insulin release from the pancreas

• Decreasing glucagon secretion when blood glucose is high

Follow these instructions while taking Sitahenz M Od Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not split, crush, or chew the tablet.

• Continue taking this medicine regularly as advised by your doctor.

• Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Sitahenz M Od Tablet 10 contains two active ingredients:

• Sitagliptin (100 mg): This component is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor. It blocks an enzyme that breaks down incretin hormones. By preventing the breakdown of these hormones, sitagliptin increases and prolongs their action, increasing insulin release from the pancreas when blood sugar is high and decreasing glucagon secretion, which helps lower blood glucose levels.

• Metformin (1000 mg): As a biguanide anti-diabetic medicine, metformin reduces glucose production in the liver (hepatic gluconeogenesis), a process where your liver makes sugar. It also decreases intestinal glucose absorption and improves insulin sensitivity by increasing peripheral glucose uptake and utilisation in your body.

• Store Sitahenz M Od Tablet 10 at room temperature below 30°C.

• Keep the tablets in their original packaging until you're ready to use them.

• Protect from moisture.

• Monitor your carbohydrate intake by choosing complex carbohydrates (like whole grains and vegetables) over simple sugars, which helps maintain steady blood glucose levels throughout the day.
