Sitahenz M Od Tablet Pr 10 is used in adults for the management of type 2 diabetes, particularly when metformin alone is not enough.

Sitahenz M Od Tablet Pr 10 contains two active ingredients:

• Metformin (1000 mg): As a member of the biguanide class of antidiabetic medicines, Metformin primarily works by reducing the production of glucose in your liver, decreasing intestinal glucose absorption, and improving insulin sensitivity in your body. By enhancing the action of insulin, Metformin helps your body utilise glucose more effectively, leading to a reduction in blood sugar level
• Sitagliptin (100 mg): Classified as a dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP 4) inhibitor, Sitagliptin works by inhibiting an enzyme called DPP 4 which is responsible for breaking down certain hormones that regulate insulin secretion. By preventing the degradation of these hormones, Sitagliptin prolongs their activity resulting in increased insulin secretion and reduced glucagon secretion, ultimately lowering blood sugar levels.
