Sitacip Em 100/10/1000 Tablet 10 is an antidiabetic medicine used to treat type 2 diabetes in adults whose blood sugar is not controlled by metformin alone or with another diabetes medicine. It is a combination medicine containing empagliflozin (which makes the kidneys pass out extra sugar in the urine), sitagliptin (which raises insulin release after meals) and metformin (which lowers sugar made by the liver and improves insulin response), and belongs to a class of medicines called antidiabetic combinations.
This medicine works by using three different actions together to lower blood sugar: removing extra sugar through the urine, increasing insulin release when blood sugar is high, and reducing sugar produced by the liver. Take it with food, swallow it whole, and use it as prescribed alongside a balanced diet and regular activity.
A diet with controlled carbohydrates, regular exercise and staying well hydrated support blood sugar control alongside this medicine. Keep the genital area clean and dry.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, a history of ketoacidosis, pancreatitis, urinary or genital infections, or take other medicines. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor straight away if you have unusual thirst, nausea, tiredness, fast breathing or muscle pain, and tell your doctor before any scan using contrast dye.
